Actors Sofa Vergara and Joe Manganiello have divorced after seven years of marriage, according to New york sizzler. on Monday evening.

The Modern Family and Magic Mike stars sent the following statement to the outlet:

“We took the difficult decision to divorce.” “As two people who deeply love and care for one another, we respectfully request that our privacy be respected at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” the statement adds. “Sofa and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some time apart to think about their future.”

Vergara is presently in Italy celebrating her 51st birthday, and her Instagram photo uploads have notably omitted Manganiello—or her wedding ring.

In another image from her trip, Vergara captioned it, “When life gives you lemons, you come to Italy to squeeze them,” an apparent reference to her personal struggles.

Manganiello’s most recent Instagram post, for his part, was an image indicating his support for the actors’ and writers’ strikes. Before the couple’s split was made public, he sent a modest birthday message for Vergara alongside a hazy snapshot of a previous birthday celebration.

Manganiello revealed that on their first wedding anniversary in 2017, he created a 40-page account of their courtship to wedding and bound it into a book as a gift for her. Their wedding had 400 guests the year before, and Manganiello serenaded Vergara with Guns N Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” during their rehearsal dinner. Vergara, like Manganiello, has openly gushed about him, telling Ellen Degeneres ahead of their second anniversary that she is “very lucky.”

“I must have done something really, really, really right in my life to get that reward,” she explained. “I’m a good person, but not a very good person.” “I’m good, but he outperforms me.”
